Decks cleared for IMT at Faridabad


Chandigarh, July 30 The decks have been cleared for setting up an Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Faridabad with the announcement of award for the acquisition of 1,832 acres in Sector 66,67,68 and 69 for the project. Disclosing this here today, Rajeev Arora, MD, HSIIDC said it was the fulfilment of a commitment made by the Chief Minister to the industrialists of Faridabad in August 2005.

He said that the land acquisition officer had announced the award for 552 acres falling in the revenue estate of Mujeri, Nawada Tigaon, Satoi and Unchagaon villages, 627 acres falling in Chandawali village and 605 acres falling in Muchhgar village.

“The physical possession of the land has been taken by the corporation and the planning and development of the basic infrastructure of the township is being taken up immediately,” he said.

Arora said that the regional plan prepared and published by the NCR planning board had identified Faridabad as one of the Delhi metropolitan area towns which is to be planned and developed to check the inflow of migrants to the national capital.

The CM had also announced that an IMT on the lines of the IMT at Manesar would be developed in Faridabad for reviving the old industrial glory of the city. HSIIDC was also setting up IMTs at Rohtak, Kharkhoda(Sonipat) and Jagadhari, said Arora.
